Cantors   Serve as psalmists and song leaders during the celebration of Mass.  Practice is individual with the Music Minister.

Field Notes from our Ministers
" I was already a choir member but felt Jesus asking for more even though I was scared to leave the security of the choir.  Now, every year I give to this ministry ingrains the beautiful prayers that are the psalms deeper in my heart.  They return unexpectedly all day and night to bless me endlessly with their comfort.  I feel like the psalmist in chapter 16 verse 7; "I bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my heart exhorts me."

The Cantabile C
hoir
Featured at the 10:00 am Mass, this choir sings traditional
sacred music for SATB arrangement.  Other occasions include special Holiday concerts, Caroling and Music Festivals.  Practice is Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Church.

Field Notes from our Ministers

"Singing expresses myself to God; I can be joyful or sad and convey it deeper than just in words.  Hearing our voices blend in harmony thrills me!  How dependent we are on each other!  I am not alone!  I am united in my  happiness or sorrow,  united in my faith and the need that is the human experience.  How eloquently it is expressed through song."

The Contemporary Ensemble
Singers and instrumentalists of all ages and voice ranges sing contemporary liturgical music in a relaxed group setting at the 11:45 a.m. Mass.  Less formal than the 10:00 Choir  but equally committed to quality, this diverse group practices on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Parish Center.

      Field Notes from our Ministers
" We were new to the parish and thought joining the choir would be a good way to meet people and "get involved."  What happened was that Christ "got involved" with us.  We have a deeper appreciation of the Liturgy and the other people that serve Him around us and how He uses what we give to make us better people.   We are still "getting involved" in the deeper meanings of the Mass, of Friendship and of Ministry."

Resurrection Choir
Talented, dedicated singers composed from St. Joseph's choirs and cantors enhance the funeral liturgy with appropriate hymns, psalms, and songs. Rehearsals are once a month, mostly on the first Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Church.  This special choir is a ministry in itself.

      Field Notes from our Ministers
"Singing during the 'happy times' of Easter and Christmas is not the ultimate expression of joy. The Resurrection Choir expresses joy in the real hope of Resurrection at every gathering.  That is where the real joy is.  That is where real faith is."

Spirit Mass
"Tongues of Fire," the Spirit Mass Choir, enhances
liturgical worship through the most current spirit filled music found.  Open to young adults ages 11 and up. Practice is held 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. prior to Mass every Sunday in the Church.
